Our mission

Browser games are having a renaissance. From long-running text-based MMORPGs that turn 20 this year, to cross-platform indie RPGs, to modern strategy simulators - the browser has quietly become one of the most vibrant places to play. BrowserGamesTop exists to make that world easier to explore. We rank the most active online multiplayer browser games so a first-time visitor can find their next favourite in under a minute, and returning players can keep track of the communities they love.

Editorial process

Every game listed on BrowserGamesTop goes through the same three-step review before it appears on the toplist. First, an editor checks that the submission is a working, publicly-playable browser game - no downloads, no gated betas, no misleading landing pages. Second, we verify that the description, screenshots and banner accurately represent the game and follow our content standards (no adult, hateful, or deceptive content). Third, the URL is added to an automated uptime probe that revisits the site every 20 hours; if a listing goes offline, it is flagged in the public rankings and its owner is notified.

The daily rankings themselves are driven by real player votes - one vote per player per 24 hours per game - so the toplist reflects genuine community interest, not paid placements. Sponsored placements (Promoted spots) always carry a visible "Sponsored" label, sit in a clearly separated section above the free ranking, and never affect a game's vote count or ranking position in the main list.

Quality standards for listings

To keep the directory useful we ask every submitter for a substantive description (at least 150 characters), a real screenshot or banner, and accurate tags. Thin, spun, or duplicate content is rejected. Owners can edit their listings any time from the game-owner dashboard. Reports of low-quality or broken listings are actioned by an editor within 48 hours.

How we make money

BrowserGamesTop is free for players and free for game owners to submit. We fund the site through two optional paid upgrades - Premium (gold styling and vote bonus) and Promoted (pinned placement above the toplist) - along with display advertising. Paid upgrades are clearly disclosed on every card and never influence the free ranking.
